Jakarta - On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Inspector General (Ret.) Drs. Sang Made Mahendra Jaya, M.H., was officially appointed as the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). This appointment marks a new chapter in Mahendra Jaya's career, after previously serving as the Acting Governor of Bali since September 5, 2023.

Before serving as the Acting Governor of Bali, Mahendra Jaya had a long track record with the Indonesian National Police (Polri). A graduate of the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1989, he has extensive experience in criminal investigations and has held various strategic positions, including as Special Staff to the Minister of Home Affairs for Security and Law.

As the new Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mahendra Jaya is expected to enhance the function of internal oversight and ensure good governance within the Ministry. His experience and integrity are expected to bring about positive changes in efforts to improve accountability and transparency within the ministry.

This appointment also marks Mahendra Jaya's return to the Ministry of Home Affairs after previously serving as the Special Staff to the Minister of Home Affairs. With a strong background in security and law, he is expected to make significant contributions in overseeing the Ministry's policies and programs moving forward.
