Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar Holds Free Dental and Oral Health Social Service Program in 7 Villages, Kintamani District, Bangli
Monday, May 25, 2026 — The Faculty of Dentistry, Mahasaraswati University Denpasar once again demonstrated its commitment to community service through a Social Service Program held across seven villages: Sekaan Village, Abuan Village, Mangguh Village, Bonyoh Village, Banuang Village, Blancan Village, and Bayung Cerik Village in Kintamani District. This activity is part of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in the field of community service.
As stated in the remarks of the Rector of Mahasaraswati University Denpasar, Prof. Dr. Sukawati Lanang P. Perbawa, S.H., M.Hum.:
“Unmas is here to listen to the heartbeat of the community.”
The Social Service Program was attended directly by the Secretary of the Bangli District Health Office, the Head of Kintamani District, representatives of Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI), and the village heads of each participating village. The program also involved lecturers, students, and the academic community of the Faculty of Dentistry of Unmas Denpasar, who directly provided dental and oral health education to local residents.
In addition to health education sessions, the activities included free dental check-ups, distribution of dental hygiene kits, and awareness campaigns on the importance of maintaining oral health from an early age.
The communities in Kintamani District, especially in the seven villages, welcomed the program enthusiastically. The presence of the team from the Faculty of Dentistry of Unmas Denpasar is expected to increase public awareness about the importance of dental and oral health as an integral part of overall body health. The event took place in a warm atmosphere filled with togetherness and mutual cooperation.
The Faculty of Dentistry of Unmas Denpasar stated that social service activities like this will continue to be carried out sustainably as a tangible contribution of higher education institutions to the people of Bali, especially in areas requiring greater access to healthcare services and education. Furthermore, the program also serves as an opportunity for students to develop social awareness and gain direct field experience.
Through this Social Service Program in Kintamani, the Faculty of Dentistry of Unmas Denpasar hopes to strengthen the relationship between educational institutions and the community while supporting improvements in public health quality in Bangli Regency and the Province of Bali.
